As Chief Executive Tony heads up the management team, working closely with our elected Management Committee or Board to provide strategic direction and leadership to the Association and our subsidiary companies.
He re-joined the Association as CEO in late October 2017, having previously been our Housing Manager between 1989 and 1995. His career started with housing associations in Cumbria and Birmingham.
Other senior positions have included: Performance Auditor with Scottish Homes' Regulation and Inspection Division; Stock Transfer Co-ordinator and then Depute Director of Glasgow West Housing Association; Agency Services Co-ordinator with Eildon Housing Association and, most recently, Chief Executive of Rural Stirling Housing Association.
Jim is a Chartered Accountant with 32 years qualified experience spent in industry and commerce, including his present post as Finance Manager of Shettleston Housing Association. Jim is a native of Greenock and trained with Watson and Galbraith, Chartered Accountants, in the town before qualifying and working for 8 years at John G Kincaid & Co Ltd, Marine Engineers, also in Greenock.
Since 1984, he has worked in Glasgow, initially at the Denholm Group and then Bishop and Robertson Chalmers, Solicitors, before joining Shettleston HA in 2000.
IT & Performance Manager
Anne has worked in housing since 1984 and joined Shettleston Housing Association in 1993.
As well as wide and varied experience in all aspects of housing management she has a BA (Hons) Degree in Applied Social Studies and a Diploma in Housing Studies.
In Anne's current post she is responsible for the management of the performance framework of the Association, IT management and oversees communication and community engagement activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts – University of Stirling, Post Graduate Diploma in Housing Studies - Glasgow University, MCIH
Avril joined the Association in May 2017as Housing Manager having previously worked with Glasgow West Housing Association and prior to this with Glasgow City Council
Avril is a member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for leading teams, in Housing Management, Income Maximisation, Tenancy Support & Allocations, to deliver high quality services to tenants and other service users. Avril is committed to working closely with tenants, residents and other local partners to continually improve services the Association provides.
Joe Whitley began his career in 1979 when he started working with the South of Scotland Electricity Board, on the transmission and distribution network. He moved to the Property Services Agency in 1985 where he gained extensive experience and qualifications in the building services field. Thereafter he worked with Glasgow City's Architects department for 15 years, latterly with the newly formed GHA.
He joined Shettleston Housing Association in 2004 to take over the reinvestment and maintenance portfolio. Joe became Maintenance Manager in 2006.
Corporate Services Manager
Jannette started her career as an Administration Officer with a Clothing manufacturer in 1976. She then took a complete career change to become Manager of a Restaurant and Function Suite in 1977 for 15 years. Jannette again in 1977 changed my career to start as an Administration Officer with Glasgow City Council and subsequently transferred to GHA as Community Housing Manager in 2003.
Through a successful transfer of the local housing stock she enjoys various challneges in her role as Corporate Services Manager.
