The purpose of this Policy is for rents to be set at a level that provides a reasonable balance between affordability for our tenants and the need to ensure the Association‘s continued financial viability.
This Rent Policy seeks to outline the seven rent systems which are in operation concurrently across the Association’s stock of rented dwellings.
In response to recent social media commentary on housing allocations, we are always happy to listen to and discuss any concerns our tenants might have about any aspect of our work, and we will respond openly through the normal channels.
As a community controlled organisation, the views and needs of local people are at the heart of what we do and we welcome feedback from all in our community. We have no information about the group that has organised recent demonstrations and have not received a request for a meeting with them. Due to the uncertainty around the nature of the protest today, and in the interest of public safety, we took the decision to close our office.
Demand for our homes far exceeds the number of properties available. Through our lettings, we aim to meet a range of housing needs while operating within the requirements of Scottish Government legislation, including that relative to homelessness.
We will continue to consult with our tenants on how we let our homes on the basis of our Housing Allocations Policy.
