We aim to complete these types of repair within 4 hours. Before you proceed, just check:
- You are raising the correct type of repair
- You have checked that this repair is our responsibility to fix
- You have read our handy tips for common issues
- We will attend within 4 hours to make the issue safe
- A follow-up visit may be required at a later date to fully resolve the issue
- We will advise you whether a repair is rechargeable and if you are liable to pay but we can only provide an estimate at this time
If you raise a repair as an emergency which is not an emergency, you may be charged for this.

If you smell gas…
- DO NOTÂ turn electric switches on or off
- DO NOTÂ smoke or use a naked flame
- DOÂ turn off the gas supply at the meter
- DOÂ open doors and windows to get rid of the gas
- Phone the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 BUT DO NOT use the phone in your home if that is where the smell is.
If there is a loss of power…
Check to see if your neighbours are also affected. If so, call Scottish Power.
