Emergency repairs

We aim to complete these types of repair within 4 hours. Before you proceed, just check:

  • You are raising the correct type of repair
  • You have checked that this repair is our responsibility to fix
  • You have read our handy tips for common issues
  • We will attend within 4 hours to make the issue safe
  • A follow-up visit may be required at a later date to fully resolve the issue
  • We will advise you whether a repair is rechargeable and if you are liable to pay but we can only provide an estimate at this time

If you raise a repair as an emergency which is not an emergency, you may be charged for this.

If you smell gas…

  1. DO NOT turn electric switches on or off
  2. DO NOT smoke or use a naked flame
  3. DO turn off the gas supply at the meter
  4. DO open doors and windows to get rid of the gas
  5. Phone the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 BUT DO NOT use the phone in your home if that is where the smell is.

If there is a loss of power…

Check to see if your neighbours are also affected. If so, call Scottish Power.
